Construction begins on new residence hall

The first phase of construction on a new freshman living/learning residence hall will begin on Friday, Jan. 20, as the contractor begins installing a fence around the construction site.

Dillard Hall will be demolished as part of the first phase of construction on the five-story residence hall.

As part of the construction:

  • Parking lot L will be closed.
  • Bank Street will be closed at Coltrane and Moore halls.
  • Parking lots M and N will remain open.
  • Sidewalks leading to Coltrane will remain open.

The residence hall is expected to open in August 2018 and will add nearly 300 resident beds. The project has an overall budget of $24 million.
