CITI honors ACUE Faculty Class of 2024

The Center for Innovative and Transformative Instruction (CITI) recognized its Class of 2024 Association of College and University Educators (ACUE) Credentialed Educators and micro-credential completers. The pinning ceremony was held May 14 at the Bermuda Run Country Club.

For the 2023-2024 academic year, 29 faculty members earned the national certification to become ACUE Credentialed Educators, which is a 25-week course. Additionally, 28 faculty completed the 8-week micro-credential courses, “Creating an Inclusive and Supportive Online Learning Environment” and “Promoting Active Online Learning,” said Dr. Jeremiah Shipp, senior faculty development specialist and project manager for the ACUE partnership.

This is CITI’s third cohort of faculty who have invested in enhancing their instructional acumen to positively impact student success outcomes. In total, 122 WSSU faculty are ACUE Credentialed Educators.

During the course, faculty implement evidence-based teaching practices that are proven to increase the success of today’s college learners. Faculty members who complete the course can facilitate courses that positively impact student engagement, critical thinking, retention and course grades, Shipp said.

“This is a significant milestone as we endeavor to unleash the genius of all WSSU learners,” he said. “We appreciate the Office of the Provost, Integrated Marketing and Communications, and our esteemed faculty for helping to make this a memorable event.”

To celebrate this accomplishment, the faculty received a custom WSSU ACUE Yearbook. Photos from the event are accessible at WSSU ACUE 2024.
