School of Health Sciences receives grant from UNC Press
WSSU’s School of Health Sciences has received a grant from the University North Carolina Press to support the Journal of Best Practices in Health Professions Diversity: Research, Education, and Policy, UNC Press announced.
The grant, from the Thomas W. Ross Fund, will help the journal, which has been published biannually since 2007, receive greater exposure, said Dr. Peggy Valentine, dean of the School of Health Sciences.
The grants are administered by the Press’s Office of Scholarly Publishing Services (OSPS), which serves the UNC system by providing access to a range of sustainable, mission-driven publishing models and solutions. The Press has successfully completed a $50,000 challenge grant from the William R. Kenan Jr. Charitable Trust to create the $100,000 Ross Fund.
