 - Social work, Diggs Gallery win 2019 HBCU Awards- August 05, 2019 WSSU’s social work program and the Diggs Gallery are named best among nation’s HBCUs for 2019. WSSU was a finalist for 10 of the awards, which are presented by HBCU Digest.
 - 2 recent WSSU graduates participate in Yale art institute- July 15, 2019 Two recent WSSU art graduates recently took part in an art program at Yale University.
 - WSSU a finalist for 10 HBCU Digest Awards for 2019- June 18, 2019 For the second consecutive year, WSSU is a finalist for the two top HBCU Awards, "HBCU of the Year" and "Male President of the Year." The awards are presented by HBCU Digest.

 - Diggs Gallery director named Barton College graduation speaker- May 05, 2017 - Barton College, a private liberal arts institute in Wilson, has announced that Endia Beal, assistant professor of art and director of the Diggs Gallery at WSSU, will be the featured speaker at the 115th commencement exercises on Saturday, May 13. 
 - WSSU, UNCSA seniors collaborate on Diggs Gallery exhibit- April 21, 2017 A unique exhibit is bringing graduating seniors from WSSU and the UNCSA together, and exposing them to new areas of art.
