The Office of University Advancement is excited to announce that applications are now open for the Winston-Salem State University Advancement Ambassadors Program. This is a great opportunity to:
- Gain leadership experience through a prestigious student volunteer program.
- Represent WSSU at special events and engagements.
- Strengthen connections within the university and local community.
- Develop professional skills that will benefit you after graduation.
- Earn work-study credit.
About the Advancement Ambassadors Program
This program is designed for student leaders who:
- Represent the Office of University Advancement at key events.
- Support the Office of the Chancellor with special requests and engagements.
- Build leadership, networking, and communication skills.
- Foster relationships with alumni, donors, and university partners.
This is a great way to expand your network, enhance your resume, and make a lasting impact at WSSU.
Available Roles and Positions
Head Advancement Ambassador
Oversees the development and growth of the program
Establishes rules of engagement and coordinates scheduling
Advancement Ambassadors
Serve as official hosts and representatives at key Advancement events
Work closely with donors, alumni, and university supporters
Development Associates
Assist with fundraising initiatives and donor stewardship
Support Advancement team projects and event logistics
Alumni Ambassadors
Focus on alumni relations and engagement initiatives
Help cultivate connections between current students and WSSU graduates
Freshman Fellows
Reserved for second-semester freshman students only. Gain early exposure to leadership, professional development, and community engagement

Who Can Apply?
Academic Standing – Must have completed at least one semester at WSSU and have at least two semesters remaining until graduation. (Freshman Fellows must be second-semester freshmen.)
GPA – Maintain a 2.5 or higher cumulative GPA.
Conduct – Must be in good standing with no disciplinary actions.
Event Participation – Commit to at least 3 Advancement or Chancellor’s events per semester (subject to change)
