Why does data matter to us as a people, you individually, as a country or globally? Together we will explore way people engage data in everyday life. We will unpack the ways we use data to explore, understand, improve and build things like ideas, business, or social groups, policy, and even entertainment.

Pre-Nursing 101

The Department of Nursing will facilitate a presentation for nursing pre-majors on the program, opportunities, and other important information. The TEAS test and GAP Program will be discussed.


Registration Refresher

Students will receive a refresher on the registration process regarding Banner Rams Online such as how to look up classes, how to enter classes, how to complete Add Forms, and other registration tickets.

Avoiding Plagiarism: Strategies for Authentic Writing

We will dive into the ethics of writing and equip students with effective strategies to avoid plagiarism and empower students to create content that reflects their authentic voice.

How to Be a Great Presenter I: Content and Prep

We will cover two essential ingredients to presenting well: developing content, and preparing the right way. Included is how to do an elevator pitch, how to use personal stories, and using notes.

How to Be a Great Presenter II: Deliver with Power

In this second of two parts, we cover the nuts and bolts of presenting: body language, eye contact, enunciation, and more. We will discuss useful warm-up techniques to use just prior to presenting.

LSAT Test Prep: Logic Games, Part I

We tackle possibly the hardest section of the LSAT (law school) exam: Analytical Reasoning or “Logic Games.” Learn techniques to diagram and shorthand facts to better organize extremely complex data.

Learn tools and strategies for staying engaged in "uninteresting" readings and texts for all classes and levels.

I Have a Story to Tell: The Art of Creative Writing

Students will learn the art of creative writing (poetry, fiction, and nonfiction). Students can bring their own piece of writing or create a new piece to have critiqued. The purpose of the workshop is to help writers improve their stories and help aspiring writers start their stories.
