There is an intense nursing faculty shortage on local, regional, and state levels. WSSU's Nurse Educator Certificate program addresses the growing need for educators of new nurses. If you have an active RN license and want to transition out of a clinical setting to teach in an undergraduate nursing program or fulfill a clinical education/staff development position in a hospital or other health care organization, this program is for you.
There are two options for this certificate program:
If you have already earned your Bachelor of Science in Nursing, do not want to earn your Master of Science in Nuring, but you'd like to qualify to practice as a nurse educator, this certificate program is for you. Successful graduates will be qualified to teach at the community college level.
NOTE: You could earn your Master of Science in Nursing degree with an Advanced Nurse Educator concentration within 2 years. Check out the 39 credit hour MSN program here.
