Housing Capacity

Due to unprecedented demand, all on-campus residence halls have reached capacity for the Fall 2026 semester.

  • Students who have not received an official housing assignment should NOT report to campus on move-in day, we are unable to accommodate students without a confirmed room assignment.
  • As we continue to manage the housing waitlist, we cannot guarantee on-campus housing for students who have not yet secured a housing assignment.
  • If you still plan to attend this fall, it is important that you begin making alternative housing arrangements immediately, as additional on-campus space is not expected to become available before the start of the semester.
  • If you have already received a housing assignment, your placement is secure unless you choose to cancel.

IMPORTANT DETAILS

  • New housing applications for upper-class and graduate students are closed. Housing and Residence Life will notify students via WSSU email and StarRez if additional spaces become available.
  • Waitlist placements are made on a first-applied, first-placed basis as space becomes available and may continue into early September.
  • Room change requests are currently on hold due to full occupancy and will be revisited after the census period.

ALTERNATIVE HOUSING OPTIONS

  • While we strive to accommodate every student who wishes to live with us, growing enrollment may limit availability.
  • Additionally, some students prefer private housing accommodations.
  • In response, we've developed non-affiliated partnerships with vetted local housing providers to help students and families explore safe, convenient off-campus options.
  • Through our collaboration with College Pads, students can access a trusted off-campus housing marketplace featuring properties that are interested in supporting WSSU students.

Please note: These properties operate independently from WSSU and are not managed by the Department of Housing and Residence Life.

WSSU OFF-CAMPUS HOUSING MARKETPLACE

*Please note these caveats regarding properties listed on the marketplace:

  • These non-affiliated options are not endorsed by WSSU.
  • WSSU cannot guarantee the condition or quality of the rental units listed.
  • WSSU does not assume responsibility for arrangement of rental contracts between individual tenants and landlords.
