Police Officer (I, II, III) - Starting salary $54,000

Master Police Officer (I, II, III) - Starting salary $62,682

Signing Bonus

  • WSSU Campus Police is awarding a minimum bonus of $5,000 to attract highly effective law enforcement professionals.
  • This bonus will be awarded after individuals complete the field training officer program, including all certification requirements set forth by North Carolina Training and Standards.
  • Additionally, a second bonus of up to $3,500 may be awarded at the end of year two.

  • Individuals who are finishing or have finished the state-mandated Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) and who are ready to enter our field training program.

Basic Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 21 years of age when sworn
  • 20/20 corrected vision
  • Good physical condition
  • Strong moral character
  • Have or be able to attain a valid North Carolina driver’s license
