WSSU administrator recognized by Winston-Salem leadership program

Rosalba Ledezma, associate vice chancellor of facilities management at Winston-Salem State University, has been recognized through the City of Winston-Salem’s Outstanding Women Leaders Program.

Ledezma, who joined WSSU in 2012, was recognized at an event on April 20 at the Embassy Suites in downtown Winston-Salem.

She and other honorees also were recognized by the mayor and city council at its April 17 meeting. Since 2003, the annual Outstanding Women Leaders ceremony has recognized more than 50 women from all walks of life.

Student, faculty member honored with King ‘Building the Dream’ Award

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King. Jr., two members of the Ramily were recognized during a joint program of Winston-Salem State University and Wake Forest University on the official federal holiday honoring the civil rights icon. Student Nia James and faculty member Maestra D’Walla Simmons-Burke were the 2025 honorees.
