Video: SciTech aims to inspire Winston-Salem's next generation of scientists

More than 100 elementary and middle-school students from Winston-Salem are spending their summer learning about science through the SciTech Institute's summer camps.

The two-week camps, sponsored by Winston-Salem State University's Department of Education and Wake Forest's Innovation Quarter, allow students to learn hands-on through cool experiments, guest speakers and field trips.

The camp, June 19-30, included daily field trips, guest speakers, and a lot of fun, hands-on STEM activities.

During the camp, Dr. Frank Ingram, associate professor chair of the Department of Mathematics at WSSU, led a session on cryptography, or as he explains, "the science of keeping secrets secret."
