Miss WSSU in running for Miss CIAA 2018
You can help Miss Winston-Salem State University Jordan Reaves in her quest to become the next Miss CIAA.
Online voting for Miss CIAA 2018 opened on Monday, Feb. 5, and continues through 5 p.m. on Friday, March 2. Your vote will help to determine the winner, which will be named during the CIAA Super Saturday at the Charlotte Convention Center on March 3.
Food Lion will present the new Miss CIAA with a $2,500 scholarship. Also, the queen with the most online votes will present $2,000 to a food pantry in her CIAA community to support alleviating hunger, as part of the Food Lion Feeds program.
Reaves, a senior business administration major from Southern Pines, is competing for the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina, which partners with WSSU’s Project GIVE volunteer program.
You can vote for Miss WSSU online. Votes are unlimited.
Reaves, the 78th Miss WSSU, was part of the University Choir for three years. She also has been involved in the Epiphany Modeling Troupe, Campus Activities Board (CAB) and Music In Action. She also has served in many leadership roles on campus. Last summer, she interned at Nationwide Insurance in Columbus, Ohio.
Her personal platform is "It’s Time To Get L.I.T." which means, Leaving a Legacy, Inspiring our future generations, and Transcending Dreams into a reality, to help cultivate a campus and generation of well-rounded Individuals.
The Food Lion Miss CIAA competition winners are given scholarships based on their GPA, community and school involvement, biography, essay and online popular vote.
