Kenneth Raymond resigns from WSSU's Board of Trustees

Kenneth Raymond '87 has resigned from the Winston-Salem State University Board of Trustees. Raymond, in an email to Board of Trustees members on March 16, said he is resigning to accept an appointment to the North Carolina State Board of Elections and Ethics Commission.

Raymond was appointed in June to a four-year term on the Board of Trustees by the General Assembly based on the recommendation of Sen. Phil Berger, the president pro tem of the North Carolina Senate.  A new trustee will be appointed based on state statute.

The WSSU Board of Trustees serves as advisor to the Board of Governors on matters pertaining to WSSU and also serves as advisor to the chancellor concerning the management and development of the institution. It is comprised of 13 members with eight members elected by the UNC Board of Governors and four appointed by the General Assembly. The Student Government Association president serves an ex-officio member.
