Apply now for STARTALK Chinese Language summer program
Applications are now being accepted for Winston-Salem State University’s (WSSU) STARTALK Chinese Language, an intensive scholarship-based summer program for high school and college students.
The program will be offered for the first time in the Piedmont Triad.
STARTALK Information Session
- When: 4-5 p.m. on Thursday, April 18
- Where: Hall-Patterson, Room 228, on WSSU's campus.
- About: During the session, students and parents can learn about the program, speak with faculty and also learn more about the application process.
WSSU’s Department of World Languages and Culture received a $78,579 federal grant to offer the nonresidential program for up to 30 students. College students who complete the program will receive 3 credit hours. The deadline to apply is May 15, 2019.
The STARTALK Chinese Language program will be taught by an experienced team in an immersive way to integrate culture, content and language in the classroom, Dr. Xiong said. The theme for the program is Food and Wellness. No prior Chinese language experience is necessary.
