WSSU Giving Tuesday: 5 Things You Should Know

Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) is again joining thousands of organizations across the globe by participating in Giving Tuesday on Dec. 3. 

Here are five things to know about WSSU’s Giving Tuesday.

1. It's "Giving 2UES-DAY"

This year, WSSU is calling it "Giving 2UES-DAY." Why? Because, through the Million Dollar Match initiative, every dollar you give will be doubled. 
2. This is the fifth year WSSU has participated in Giving Tuesday.
For 2018, WSSU set a record, raising nearly $100,000 in one day.
3. You’re helping WSSU students succeed.
This Giving Tuesday, every dollar you give to the Million Dollar Match will provide need-based endowed scholarships for students and double your gift. You can:
Save the Date: Tuesday, Dec. 3, Giving 2Uesday WSSU double your gift + Million Dollar Match
  • Make a one-time gift to the Million Dollar Match Endowed Scholarship Fund.
  • Give to any existing endowed need-based scholarship.
  • Create a need-based endowed scholarship with a pledged gift of $12,500 (payable over 24 months). 
4. There are three ways to give on Giving Tuesday.
  • Give online
  • Call University Advancement at 336-750-2330
  • Drop off your donation to WSSU University Advancement in Blair Hall.
5. Every dollar helps WSSU reach its goal.

Every dollar you give to the Million Dollar Match – up to $1 million – on Dec. 3 and through the remainder of the year will be matched dollar for dollar. So far, WSSU alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents and friends have raised or pledged more than $650,000 toward the goal.
