CSEM Senior Research Fellows work as lead researchers on ongoing issues that connect with local, state and national issues around economic mobility. They are active in the community through research presentations as well as publishing in peer-reviewed academic journals, policy journals, op-eds and media outlets. In addition, they serve as a resource for local media outlets searching for expertise in their designated research areas, particularly for issues impacting Forsyth County.
Senior Research Fellows
Madjd-Sadjadi is Senior Research Fellow for Regional Economics. He studies data and provides detailed analysis that sheds light on our local economy and its trajectory.
Guillory is Senior Research Fellow for Entrepreneurship. She supports the CSEM mission through the evaluation of currently supported CSEM courses that confirms the impact of their programming on the target entrepreneurial community with Winston-Salem.
CSEM Faculty Fellows come from a variety of social science and business disciplines. They work jointly or independently on exploring an innovative research question that focuses on ways to investigate causes (and possible solutions) to low economic mobility in Forsyth County, North Carolina. Many are active in the community through workshops, lectures and presentations as well as publishing in peer-reviewed academic journals.
The Fellows are chosen based on the likelihood that their research proposal will have community impact down the road. Each fall, WSSU faculty submit research grant proposals to the CSEM Advisory Group, which then makes recommendations to the Director of CSEM. Final decisions are made based on the Advisory Group’s recommendations as well as the overall needs of Forsyth County.
