SLEM Academy
The Science, Literacy, Enrichment and Mathematics (SLEM) Program is a component of the NC-MSEN Pre-College Program. SLEM is designed to provide "STEM" enrichment, with a focus in literacy for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders.
The SLEM Academy of the NC-MSEN Pre-College Program occurs during the fall and spring semesters. The students will receive academic instruction in science, literacy, enrichment, and mathematics. The SLEM Academy aims to engage students on Saturdays twice a month where they will be actively engaged in hands-on activities to enhance their communication skills, critical thinking, and writing ability. Furthermore, these students will interact with guest speakers and participate in community-related experiences.
The NC-MSEN SLEM Academy will admit 3rd, 4th and 5th graders on a first-come first-serve basis. In order to be considered for the SLEM Academy, students MUST complete and submit an application. Payment pricing is available on the front page of the application.
