Faculty Professional Development Committee

The Professional Development Committee (PDC) shall review and make funding recommendations on matters that enhance the professional effectiveness of faculty members in the areas of teaching, scholarship, and research.

Grant Applications

The PDC awards grants to help fund new research projects; travel to conferences, workshops, or training; and colloquia for the university community.

Please review the policies of the PDC in the PDC Handbook before applying. When asked to submit a Curriculum Vitae Summary, please reference the example provided in the PDC Handbook.

Grant submission portals are currently closed and are set to reopen on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 8am.  If you submitted an grant application between December 2nd-13th 2024, please allow extra time for your submission to be reviewed given the fact that faculty are not expected to review submissions over Winter Break.

Before you submit for a Travel Grant

Please be advised that upper administration has recently issued a declaration strongly discouraging travel reimbursements for Professional Development Committee (PDC) funds. Any decisions regarding travel reimbursements will now be exclusively determined by upper administration and not within the purview of the Professional Development Committee (PDC).
Compliance with this guidance is imperative, and any queries or concerns regarding travel reimbursements should be directed to upper administration for clarification and resolution.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to these updated guidelines.
