Welcome from the Faculty Senate Chair

Hello Ramily! It is with great appreciation that I welcome you to a new academic year as I begin my third and final year as Chair of the Faculty Senate. Serving in this role has been one of the greatest privileges of my career, and I remain deeply committed to continuing our work together to strengthen faculty engagement, shared governance, and our university community.

As we begin another year, we have an opportunity to build on our progress, embrace growth, and continue working together toward the future of Winston-Salem State University. Our shared commitment to our students and to one another remains at the heart of that work.

As Faculty Senate, one of our most important responsibilities is to amplify faculty voices and ensure thatfaculty perspectives are represented in the conversations and decisions that shape our university. I
encourage you to stay engaged, connect with your Senators, attend our meetings, and share your ideas, concerns, and experiences. Shared governance works best when we all have a voice and a seat at the table. Our strength is in our community, and by supporting one another, sharing our knowledge, and working collaboratively, we can continue to strengthen both our academic work and the university as a whole.

The work you do as a member of the faculty transforms lives every day, and I am grateful to serve
alongside you. Thank you for your dedication to our students, our colleagues, and for helping make this institution such an exceptional place.

This year we will continue to have our Senate and General Faculty meetings on the second Thursday
(Senate) and fourth Thursday (General Faculty) from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

I wish you all a meaningful and productive year ahead. I look forward to all that we will accomplish
together.
