Faculty Senate
“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, what are you doing for others?”

Welcome from the Faculty Senate Chair
Hello Ramily! It is with great excitement that I bring you greetings as your new Faculty Senate Chairperson for 2024-2025. This year promises to be both challenging and rewarding as we welcome new leadership, a new cohort of faculty and staff members, and navigate the evolving landscape of higher education.
I want to challenge each of you to become actively involved in your Faculty Senate. It is essential in your role as a professor to stay abreast and involved in the initiatives and endeavors that continue to impact our institution. We, the Faculty Senate Executive Committee and your Senators, are committed to representing you and advocating for your best interests. To do this, we need your voice. Attend our monthly meetings. Engage with your Senators. Use the avenues available to ensure you have a seat at the table to amplify your voice.
Please remember that our strength lies in our community. Let us continue to support one another, share our knowledge, and foster an environment of cooperation and mutual respect. We will utilize shared governance to work collaboratively with all of our colleagues to enhance instructional and institutional efficacy. We want to foster a work environment where your concerns are both heard and addressed and where your emotional well-being is prioritized.
The work you do has a profound impact on our students, the university, and the wider world, and I am confident that together we will continue to make a difference. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to education and for being a part of this incredible institution.
This year we will continue to have our senate and general faculty meetings on the second Thursday (Senate) and fourth Thursday (General Faculty) from 3:30pm to 5:00pm.
I wish you all a productive, inspiring, and successful year ahead. See you soon!
All my best,
Keisha G. Rogers
