Orientation

The Orientation Committee educates newly elected members and alternates to enable them to become fully contributing members of the Staff Senate and provides continuing development for members. The chair of this committee represents Staff Senate during Human Resource’s new employee orientation sessions to educate new employees of the university about the Staff Senate. Our goals include:

1) To introduce Staff Senate to new personnel and to provide a base for its purpose by following a check-up program expressing our appreciation and concern and to recap Staff Senate’s mission/purpose and by actively engaging the new personnel into joining the Senate.

2) To continue to promote engagement in Staff Senate by helping to provide incoming staff and existing staff continuing development about the Senate and its benefits and;

3) To remain a Visual and Relevant Entity on Campus by participating in various areas on campus to ensure that Staff Senate is represented well.
