Dear Homecoming Parade Enthusiast:
Winston Salem State University (WSSU) invites you to participate in the 2024 Homecoming Parade, scheduled for Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. The parade will be followed by the football game at 1:30 p.m., located at Bowman Gray Stadium.
The Homecoming Parade is an annual tradition that unites students, alumni, faculty, staff, and community members in the spirit of celebrating RAM-nation! Most importantly, during the WSSU Homecoming Parade experience you will encounter faculty, staff, and students on the front-line greeting, hosting, and directing all participants. Our students are a huge part of this experience. As a student-centered university, we seek to create and offer opportunities for co-curricular engagement focused on developing essential skills in our students. This experience gives our students the opportunity to engage with our community, lead in the logistics and facilitation of the experience, and immerse themselves in the culture that is WSSU – throughout the campus and community.
The following entry and participation fees are in place for this year’s event:

2024 Homecoming registration date starts Saturday, July 1, 2023. All participants seeking to participate in the parade are required to submit their registration no later than Friday, October 18, 2024 (3 weeks before the parade date).You can access the registration site by clicking on the following link: WSSU 2024 Homecoming Parade Registration. A late fee of $50 will be assessed to all entrants submitted after this date without exception and entry applications will not be accepted after 5 p.m. on Friday, October 25, 2024 (2 weeks before the parade). The parade line up will be determined by registration date (first come, first serve per group).
Upon completion of the parade registration, participants will receive a confirmation email. In addition, an email providing logistical information detailing the itinerary, parade map, staging times, and staging areas will be sent out to all participants two weeks prior to the Homecoming Parade. To ensure an excellent event, a mandatory conference call for all parade participants is scheduled for Monday, November 5th, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. and Tuesday, November 6th, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. Parade participants need to only attend one of these calls.
