Chancellor's Thanksgiving Letter

Dear Ram Family,

This is a wonderful time of the year, with autumn leaves falling, cooler temperatures, and the bonds of friendship and community strengthened through the gathering of family and friends. Thanksgiving is the herald of the holiday season, a time when we celebrate the connections we have with those we love. It is also a reminder to us to live in a place of gratitude as we acknowledge the many gifts we have received.

As I prepare to celebrate, I am reminded that our university has much for which to be thankful: our brilliant and hard-working students; our creative and dedicated faculty and staff; and our passionate and engaged alumni and friends. As Chancellor, I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to work with such tremendous colleagues and to serve such promising students. We are making a difference in our communities through the fulfillment of our mission. There is no better way to give thanks for what we have been given than by using our gifts as a force for good in the world.

As always, I am grateful to serve this campus as its Chancellor. When I speak to our students and our alumni, I am reminded of the critical importance of the work we do here. For 126 years, WSSU has transformed the lives of those who enter these halls—providing an opportunity for so many to make a significant difference in the world. I am honored to be among so many people who live and breathe our university’s motto: Enter to Learn. Depart to Serve.

As we pause to celebrate this holiday, please enjoy the company of your loved ones. Be safe and enjoy the Thanksgiving break. I look forward to seeing you upon your return.

Happy Thanksgiving,

Elwood L. Robinson, Ph.D.
