After a 39-year career in higher education, Chancellor Elwood Robinson announced today he will retire from Winston-Salem State University on June 30, 2023.

WSSU's campus was placed on lockdown for about an hour early Saturday morning while university police and Winston-Salem Police responded to a call of a fight in Brown Residence Hall. No serious injuries were reported.

We are grateful that Winston-Salem State University has escaped this deadly storm relatively unscathed. While we have had some minor localized flooding and some downed tree limbs, our campus has fared remarkably well. Unfortunately, many others in the state have not been as lucky.
