DOES EVERYONE NEED A PARKING PERMIT?

Yes, every student, faculty, staff member and visitor must have a parking permit or guest pass.

WHERE SHOULD I DISPLAY MY PERMIT?

  • Students and commuters should display their permit sticker in the lower corner of the driver side front windshield.
  • Faculty and staff should hang their parking permit hang tag on their rearview mirror.

DOES WSSU HAVE GUEST PARKING?

Yes, all guests on campus must have a visitor parking pass. Guest passes can be picked up at the Parking Office in the Patricia D. Norris Police and Public Safety Building.

Student guest pass options:

  • You can come by after 3 p.m. to get a guest pass for your visitor—FREE
  • You can pick up a guest pass before 3 p.m.—$5
  • Your guest can pick up a pass during regular business hours—FREE
  • You or your guest can pick up an overnight pass from one of the safety booths after 8 p.m. The pass will be valid until 7 a.m.—FREE

WHERE IS THE PARKING OFFICE LOCATED?

The Parking Office is located in the Anderson Modular Unit next to the Anderson Center and tennis courts.  Visit map.wssu.edu for directions.

WHERE CAN STUDENTS PARK AFTER 5 P.M.?

  • Resident students may ONLY park in their designated Lots 24/7.
  • Students with an active permit or temporary pass can park in any commuter lot or faculty and staff parking lot after 5 p.m.

Commuter lots: FF, BB, CC, YC, PC, E, VC, and LSW

PARKING AT A METER: CAN I USE THE PASSPORT PARKING APP? (use app logo)

Yes, you can use the Passport Parking app at meters in the following locations: 

Zone 85: Lowery Street 
Zone 92: F.L. Atkins 
Zone 86: Cleon Thompson Center (LOT R)
Zone 87: Anderson Center
Zone 897: O’Kelly Library, Traffic Circle, Old Stadium Drive, and Lot T

Entire day—$9.00

DO SOME PARKING METERS ACCEPT QUARTERS?

Yes, parking at a meter using quarters will only allow you to park for 1 hour maximum.
LOT G & LOT Z  You can use either quarters or the Passport Parking app in Zone 897.
Zone 897: O’Kelly Library, Traffic Circle, Old Stadium Drive, and Lot T

CAN I PARK IN AN OVERFLOW LOT IF MY ASSIGNED LOT IS FULL?

Yes, if your lot is full you can park in one of the following overflow locations:

  • Residential overflow is DD for lot EE, X, W permit holders
  • Residential overflow is M Gravel Upper (MG) and Lower M Gravel (MG) for K, P, and O permit holders.
  • Overflow lot is FF for all permit holders (faculty, staff, commuters, and residents)

I GOT A TICKET.  WHAT SHOULD I DO NEXT?

You can pay your ticket online.  Make sure to do so within 9 days to avoid a $10 late fee.

If you would like to appeal your ticket, please follow the steps below.

  • Visit our website to fill out and print a Parking Appeal form or visit the Parking Office in person.
  • Submit your form along with the citation to the Parking Office within 10 calendar days.
  • If the 10th calendar day is on the weekend you need to come to the Parking Office before day 10.
  • Attend your appeal hearing. You must appear in person in order to argue your appeal.
  • Appeal hearings are held once a month. They are usually on the third Wednesday of the month, but check with the Parking Office.
