Writing and Communication Center
The Writing and Communication Center (WCC), located on the 1st floor in the Student Success Center at Hill Hall, is dedicated to fostering a safe and inclusive environment for collaboration on reading, writing, and communication projects. We focus on enhancing the learning experience through active participation in dialogue among students, faculty, and staff.
Our motto is to Empower Students, the RAM way and the Write Way.
The WCC offers support with writing projects, speeches, oral presentations, reading assistance, resumes, cover letters, personal statements, and visuals for papers or presentations. We focus on collaborative feedback to help students understand the writing process, develop improvement strategies, and perfect their presentation styles. Our goal is to build skills that help students become more confident, self-sufficient writers, readers, and communicators.
Because we believe writing is a learning process that requires time to conquer, we assist writers at any stage of their writing process. This includes prewriting, brainstorming, organizing ideas, researching and evaluating sources, developing rough drafts, integrating sources, citing and formatting, revising content, editing, proofreading, and more.
Appointments
We offer in-person and virtual consultations by appointment. Walk-ins are welcome also! To book an appointment, visit WCOnline at WSSU or stop by The WCC.
