The Position Management section supports activities campus-wide activities on position management and classification to include consultation, position design & classification, compensation analysis, training, and administration of classification programs for the university. This section is responsible for coordinating decisions for the effective design and delivery of compensation programs to meet the university needs. Classification and Compensation provides support and guidance on a variety of salary administration policies and best practices to maintain fair and equitable classification and salary decisions for the university’s workforce. The unit maintains the integrity of the State of North Carolina’s career banding program, UNC Human Resource System Office, as well as the Department of Labor’s prescribed Fair Labor Standards Act regulations.
